Vale and Wabtec collaborate on alternative fuels and battery-electric locomotives

Vale and Wabtec agreed to study ammonia as an alternative locomotive fuel and ordered three FLXdrive battery-electric locomotives for use on Vale’s Carajás Railway. Delivery was forecast for 2026.
